key for dvd slot

hi people anyone have anyidea where i can get a key or get into a dvr dvd slot without breaking it it doesnt have a make or model number on it just says 4channel in left hand corner thanks

That is exceedingly vague... no make or model, no pictures... how are we supposed to know what type of key it is? I've never even seen a DVD drive that's key-locked. You sure you're not talking about a hard drive sled?

sorry again people not actually got this yet but seen a pic myselft (got this to have a go as new to all this cctv stuff)

the only info ive go is cant find key to open dvd slot but if it is a

hard drive can you get a key?? thanks for your help

Hey there. If it's a hard disk caddy, then it might be a cheap and nasty tubular lock (not that all tubular locks are cheap and nasty - just these ones).

Pretty much any key that will fit it will open it. The keys were used on floppy disk holders, and as the key board locks on AT format computers. Failing that, it is very easy to open without the key.

The lock normally also operates a switch to power down the hard disk.

 

Then again, it could be something more secure.

I also haven't heard of a lockable DVD drive.

thanks for your help ,yes the lock is a small camlock (round key type) i do have some camlock keys but are to big so try find some small ones .and yes it does have a cover which is locked .
