FlameOut 0 Posted October 13, 2011 I think I'm learning the hard way, that you get what you pay for. I recently bought a 4 channel DVR and 2 - CIB CUC8795 cameras, thinking the cameras might be good because of the 600 TVL. The cables I used might also be part of the problem, but I'm not sure. I connected up my old Sony camcorder to the same wires and the picture was good, but not as good as when I use about a 5' wire (The wires I'm using are about 100' long http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00280KIJ8http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00280KIJ8 Not sure if I'm allowed to post that link) Also, is there a way to turn off the infrared? Last night was the first night I used the camera, and viewing some of the footage today, it is absolutely useless. It appears as if there are swarms of bugs just circling the lens. I wish I could figure out how to post a video of what I'm talking about I'm in the market for two more cameras, so I guess I have lots more reading to do, and I think I need to trash the cables I bought
shankarsha 0 Posted October 18, 2011 Cable may play important role in video quality but in your case IR lights are the spoilsport. Try video quality in day time, if it's better then IR lights are the culprit N you have no choice other than replacing the camera.
