Panasonic VD2 protocol compatible with ....?

I've recently made an investment in a Panasonic WV-HD316 and a few Pana cam's. I love the ability to set up the cameras remotely from the HD316 using the OSD.

 

1) I'm looking to purchase some more cameras for this system. What other camera manufacturers use a OSD setup and control protocol that is compatible with Panasonic's (VD2 I believe its called).

 

2) Does anybody have a link for a tutorial on VD2 and its inner-workings? (I've checked panasonic site)
