Can you run the Dahua Mac software off of a usb thumbdrive?

Hi Guys.

 

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can run the Dahua Mac software off of a usb thumbdrive? My wife has a Mac Book Pro laptop. I'd install the mac software on that. But when she travels she'd like to be able to run the mac software off of a usb drive on her work laptop instead of lugging around 2 computers.

 

FYI: I don't own a Dahua dvr, yet.

I think it has to be installed on a Mac.

Even on Windows, although you COULD run it off a USB drive, it is very slow as it loads all the images into memory, also needs write access to the data files - basically it can take forever to load. And if its Windows 7 for example, the data files will be read/created from the Local App Data path, instead of the programs path. As far as I know the Mac version is emulated, although they are working on a new version which may not be. I dont have a Mac to test it on to really say yes or no.

as of this point. it works on mac 10.6 and Rory is right, it has to be installed. It cannot be a "run type" program.
