ICatch / Rayvision US411L and RVH1004 4CH DVR Email Setup

Recommended Posts

Hello, I searched high and low for this info and cannot seem to find it. I also cannot get USSSCCTV.COM to answer their support email box.

On the ICatch / Rayvision US411L/RVH1004 4CH DVR, I cannot seem to get email notification to work for anything. I have tried several different email setups, double and triple checked my login and passwords, changed settings, tried different ports, tried behind the router (D-Link DI-524), tried it directly connected to my cable modem, NOTHING WORKS.

I noticed there is no setting for email authentication whatsoever. So for this DVR, what is the default that the email setup wants to see? Authentication YES or NO? SSL? None? I've tried it every way I can think of.

Rayvision needs to add an Authentication check box to their email setup on the next firmware update. Oh, and I did update to the latest, B97 FW.

Thank you!

JD

From www.ussecuritysolutions.net technical support, which doesn't tell me anything that I don't already know:

Hi ,

With email setup you have to make sure you have the right setting unfortunately when it come to email you have to get the email setup from your ISP they will give you the port number the user name and the password as well as from email has to be a valid email address on the server

Thank you

My reply:

Hi, and thank you for your response.

I have checked with my ISP and they need to know if the DVR device is compatible with standard email server authentication or if it requires a completely unsecured SMTP server. Also is it compatible with SSL? What is the correct setup on the server side?

By the way, the support email address on your web site is incorrect. I had to figure out where to send this email. It is shown on the website as support@ussecuritysolution.net when it is actually support@ussecuritysolutions.net, with the "s" added.

Thank you, J

Their reply:

It will support authentications but it is not SSL compatible

Thank you
