marinpa 0 Posted November 15, 2011 I am about to commence an undercover mobile surveillance assignment. What makes it different than others is that the client wants us to gather video evidence. At the present moment I am using a Canon SX40 HS and a Samsung SCZ-3370 (37X). However for this assignment I will need to "get" much closer while keeping my distance as the subject might be aware of a surveillance operation. I am considering for the job a SAMSUNG SCZ-3430 (47X) and I was wondering if anyone around here have experienced with this camera. Either that, or I am considering a custom solution such as a short box camera, (1/3 SONY CCD, SUPER HAD, 520TVL, WDR) with an x-160mm manual varifocal lens hooked to my laptop. Any ideas? Best regards, marinpa
Soundy 1 Posted November 15, 2011 Lots of options that will get you MUCH closer... the question is, how much are you willing to spend for them? There's something like this, at the extreme end: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11322&start=
Razesdark 0 Posted November 15, 2011 Does it have to be long range, or can you go up close as well with covert camera's ? Like the AXIS M7001 Covert Surveillance Kit ? Which isn't so expensive

Ì would be happy with a setup that would offer me a 35mm equivalent zoom of 1600mm . My cameras I am using at the present moment offers me about 820mm - 840mm. Which isn't so expensive Yes, for this application it needs to be long range due to its mobile nature and the type of evidence the client needs to gather, review and analyze.
