Decent Night Time vision? Please help

A few days ago we got burgled by some youths and lost alot of stuff. I've dabbled about with camera's for a while now, and I'm not interested in bodging together anymore IP camera's with activewebcam!!

 

I want to start a new system, with a Network DVR Recorder - but it seems every system I've tried in the last 5 years has had a massive floor - Night time clarity (They've all been horrendous)

 

Can anyone recommend a system with decent night time vision? I'm after 2 to 4 Cams and DVR Anything upto £500.
