pacerz3000 0 Posted November 28, 2011 Hi. I have a honeywell hrsd4 security camera that I can view remotely with the included RAS Plus software package. It works fine. I have DMZ and port forwarding setup in the router settings. No problems there. The question that I have is can I set this up to view in a web browser and then going to my ip address with the port at the end.... for example like the ip would be 74.142.231.133 and then :12000 at the end? Am I locked into using the included RAS Plus package? Thanks for any replies.. -Tony
SAJEEL 0 Posted December 18, 2011 There are two way to view remotely: 1) using static wan ip address i.e. 84.123.456.789:80 the :80 being the port number, if you do not have static ip after a while you ip address will change, see www.mywanip.com 2) using a dns resolver service such as http://www.no-ip.com/ and http://www.dyndns.com/ which instead of ip gives you an address such as honeywell-dyndns.office.org:80 downside being you will have to have install update utility on dvy or local pc where dvr is located. hope that helps post back and let us know so that others can benefit from the information
