rory 0 Posted December 2, 2011 dahua 4 channel DVR then use any cctv camera dahua can be found in UK sold as Adata. you dont even need a hard drive in the DVR, can just record over network to PSS software on your computer. But hard drive in the DVR is recommended. then maybe look at a 700TVL day night IR bullet
protect101 0 Posted December 2, 2011 the 700TVL looks very good... is there a way I can connect it up without the 4 channel thingy I mean I only need one camera not 4? also why is it reccommended to have a harddrive installed and not record via software...also just took your advice.. would this setup work? item number 230709406785 will add a 1.5t hardrive.. will that be enough space or too much? and item number 170693725645 ino it says £180 but you can offer him and he will probs accept £75 check as he sold some for 75-80 if you click on the number hes sold.. sorry about this.. but im a noob.. so thanks
tomcctv 190 Posted December 2, 2011 protect101. £65 for a 4 way dvr from hongkong to the uk P&P free is a waste of £65. no support nothing. and the cameras you have listed cheaper if you buy local and not off ebay. what is your budget ??
protect101 0 Posted December 3, 2011 im not sure where I can buy a 700TVL bullet outside for less than £75? I need a cheap and reliable DVR I only need it for 1 camera I don't know why it has to be 4 channel?
protect101 0 Posted December 6, 2011 any reccomendations? on what camera to get? as most people on this forums say its not all about spec of camera but who its made by, I dont really want a camera from ebay made in china as the quality may be questionable.. is there any brands or specific cameras you can reccommend? i only need one for the front of the house.. really in need of help now guys
tomcctv 190 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi protect101. your problem is just needing 1 camera. which leaves you with two options a network camera like the one in earlier post. http://avn80x.blogspot.com/ this will record to your pc and have mobile viewing you can buy from the bottom of the link (maplins) but you will need a outdoor housing. going analog get a little harder as you cant record direct to h/drive. so you need a single channel (usb recorder) which are not the best things. or for your budget you could install a light camera with SD card recording. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg__ZGq2OJY&feature=related
protect101 0 Posted December 6, 2011 thanks for the advice, just had a flood light installed at the front so guardcam wouldn't be great, also not to keen on it talking I was thinking of buying a secondhand DVR and fitting my own HD in it, like this one ebay item number 330647407555 and then buying a single camera.. but can't seem to find a good camera.. they all seem to be nonbranded on ebay
tomcctv 190 Posted December 6, 2011 protect101 the ebay listing is S/H junk its too old ..... no point in buying a good quality camera and recording in bad quality. with your budget the link to the avtech is your best option they are a good camera 1.3mp record to your pc. have alerts sent to your mobile audio or you can just get a dahua dvr with a good camera for £200 (brand new with hard drive)
