Buying Servers or Building?

I am curious to see how many companies are building their Surveillance Servers as opposed to buying from a distributor or manufacturer.

we buy from one of our suppliers we don't do enough to get really good prices on components and I like the idea of having a warrentee that covers everything. HD goes out or problem with capture card I deal with only one entity. I think if you do enough building your own will save you money

We've been building our own for quite a while (Windows 98 era). We like the control of component choices, speed of service (we often fix units in the field), and the additional profit margin we have by doing it that way.
