dauha dvr Transfer Mode, firmware upgrade, MAC ADDR, Reboot?

Recommended Posts

I have a few issues that seem to have popped up.

Transfer Mode (Latency vs. Fluency)? I know what latency is in terms of audio recording, not sure what Fluency means in this context?

Can someone tell me the best way to get a firmware upgrade? I've checked their website and they ask for a MAC address, and when I give them what windows claims is the remote MAC of the dvr it claims its invalid. Is there a good way to find the MAC address directly from the DVR? (its not on a sticker on the bottom of the DVR).

The DVR also seems to want to randomly reboot itself. I have reboot set to NEVER. But it seems to have a mind of its own.

thanks for the help in advance.

Where did you get it from and what model?

I bought it from discountedCCTV.com

The model is a G4-HD16E DVR.

The rebooting issue seems to have stopped. I had some setting about transfer/transport set accidently and that may have caused it.

It has worked fine for about 5 days. The rebooting started after I was playing in the ENCODE area.

I would still like to get a firmware upgrade.

thanks

fluency for faster video.

latency for higher quality video.

It doesn't seem to make a ton of difference though.

If the connection is slow set to fluency and connect remotely in Extra Stream.

Set Extra stream encoding to 7fps, CIF, VBR, 160 bitrate, Good quality (4).

If it is a very slow connection set bitrate even lower like 96-128.

Firmware updates need to be acquired from the supplier.

If you are absolutely sure what model you have and we can verify it, I may have a firmware you can use.

PM me for that info.

The INFO is

Build Date 9/2/2009

Web 2.17.15

I would need to know the Dahua equivalent.

Or if you have a link to the exact specs and image.

Also if for some reason it is not the right firmware/model, it could make the DVR inoperable, and would need to be sent back to the supplier to be flashed by a direct cable.

I understand.

Here is the product on the supplier's website.

To get the MAC address goto the Network settings in the DVR.

That appears to the Dahua LE-A model, will PM you more info.

I have to ask, why do you want to update the firmware, are you experiencing any issues?

Latest firmware for the LE-A is 2.608.6.

Fixes include: (chinese to english translation)

1) increase in color management, with N6.

2) to solve the problem of poor VGA display.

3) to solve 9-channel jitter.

4) video buffer overflow handling strategy (V7 features a special hard disk).

5) to solve the problem of slow query video.

6) Adjust the disk group page display problems, page layout through N6.

7) priority unified audio: voice intercom> local audio playback> Audio Preview.

multi-line overlay.

9) to solve only the first 1,9,17 Road 24 on the road can be set to D1 resolution problem.

10) different encoding settings in video mode, audio will use the same switch to control, either while on or off simultaneously.

11) hope to modify the server host IP network DDNS default: members.3322.org.

12) support IE9.

13) will be "UPNP" string to "UPnP", with a unified UPnP SDK agreement.

14) UPNP memory leak problem.

15) repair the overlay, the characters too broad issue.

16) stream is too large to solve low light problems.

17) modified 28XX registers, to solve the problem white screen.

18) 32 Road, then up and down keys during playback device channel-cut problem.

19) 32 Road Equipment Preview split switch problem.

20) VFD screen to solve the problem off the network lights constantly.

21) amendments to 24-way device, the first eight rounds of normal patrol, patrol out after 16 rounds of a mess of problems.

22) to modify the value of fixed inspection sensitivity {2,3,5,10,30,60}.

23) Cisso router, DHCP on dial-up call is not the problem.

24) to write the log card to solve the problem

The upgrade was succesful (WHoo Hoo!) " title="Applause" />

I was having the screen flicker problem (think of the deja vu/cat walking by in the movie the Matrix, where they changed the program) it would act as if their was movement and therefore record.

so far it doesnt' appear to be doing it since the upgrade.

I was also having issues with the search/play. Some of the video files were getting lost in the Bermuda triangle. sometimes they would appear, sometimes they wouldn't pretty frustrating. I'm going to check to make sure its working now.

thanks for all the help!!

All channels in D1.

As with ALL software, there are always going to be bug fixes and updates.

At least in the real world.

info from his link

HDMI and VGA outputs can support resolutions as high as 1280 x 1024, 1280 x 720 and 1024 x 768 for live viewing.

The G4 HD-E can record real-time video at CIF resolution on every channel and up to four audio recorded channels. The 4 and 8-Channel and can record 1 channel at full D1 resolution while the 16 channel can record 2 channels at full D1. This can be utilized for a high priority camera such as a cash register or main entrance.

Those specs are incomplete. It should be:

The 1st and 9th video channel can support max D1(4CIF) realtime recording and other channels can support CIF realtime recording, or 7fps D1(4CIF) every channel.

BTW those are the specs from Intellicam, not from Dahua who is the actual manufacturer.

Dahua has no DVR that only records CIF on all channels.

I know of that feature with real time D1 on some channels with CIF on the rest but that is useless to me. However there are still DVRs that do this, D1 on a main channel and only CIF on the rest, Indigo/CNB is one of them which I had the displeasure of having to backup video from last week - miraculously still were able to ID the suspect on the CIF channel and he was captured by the cops, odds of the ID was 300,000 to 1 so they cant count on that happening again - the robbers custom haircut gave him away in this case, I suppose being a gansta with a pimpin braid design was more important to him.

Congrats!

Now to make sure you have the older firmware incase you want to go back .. you did save it right? LOL just kidding. Since we are certain of the model now, I have the last working 2.606 for that DVR incase you do wish to return to it. Infact the last few 2.606 versions took care of that flickering in 9 way view. LE-A model is pretty much the standard Dahua DVR and can always get firmware updates to that. The support for that DVR model is literally unlimited.

As rory stated earlier, this firmware may not suitable for some Dahua models. In a matter of fact, it will actually brick some models so be sure to ask before you upgrade.

thanks. for the help. it seems to make a difference in the resolution, and few other quirks, also in the search area as well.

I have this model, CSP-BCGEN16, from CCTV securitypros.

I believe it is the Dahua DH-DVR1604LE-A.

My version screen shows;

system; 2.606.0000.0,

build date; 2010-12-07.

Can I upgrade the firmware?

Is it worth it?

Where do I get the files?

Thanks for the help.

Depends, are you having any problems with it now?

There is a major upgrade to the local search/playback, but nothing earthshaking.

I would start by checking out the distributor site for that DVR first, which would be Gen IV (Intellicam USA).
