SectorSecurity 0 Posted December 6, 2011 I am looking for a 12V DC 500Ma power adapter with screw terminals, however I am having trouble finding any. Does anyone know where I may get these without paying 200$ for shipping? It would be perferable if I was able to get my Cat5 cabling and Bulans in the same place. Open to suggestions. Soundy 1 Posted December 6, 2011 How about one of these at the head end: http://www.easterncctv.com/accessories/balun-vps.htm ...and one of these at each camera: http://www.easterncctv.com/accessories/ev01p-vp-t.htm They have the cable as well: http://www.easterncctv.com/accessories/cat5e.htm You could also use this with a standard barrel-terminated 12V power supply: http://www.easterncctv.com/accessories/cc6100-t-f.htm
SectorSecurity 0 Posted December 6, 2011 For the camera end I bought female adapters to send power over ethernet, did I make a mistake? Im thinking I needed to get male for the camera end?
Soundy 1 Posted December 6, 2011 What adapters? Unless these are network cameras, you ARE NOT using "power over ethernet".
SectorSecurity 0 Posted December 6, 2011 http://www.easterncctv.com/accessories/cc6100-t-f.htm I ordered those, but I ordered female for the camera end. I know Im not using power over ethernet, but I will be using utp with 4 cables for + and 4 for - to provide power.
Soundy 1 Posted December 6, 2011 Hmmmm what cameras are you talking about? Sorry, this piecemeal information makes it really hard to make any solid suggestions... full details on what you already have would make it a lot easier.

Thats just an adapter for the camera's power plug to regular cctv power cable such as 18AWG (or cat5 if you use that). Has nothing to do with power over ethernet, it just saves you cutting the plug off and splicing them together.
Numb-nuts 1 Posted December 6, 2011 These ones usually attach to the camera's power-in-lead. The lead from thee power supply is usually terminated with a suitable mating plug. These are 2.1 x 5.5 mm plugs/jacks. Of course enclose in a junction box against weather
