jetspeedz 0 Posted December 7, 2011 Here are my requirements: 4 channels 30fps at least on highest D1 resolution 700x all at one Have a Blackberry App for remote viewing (not a browser url link) email notifications motion detection (have my own HDD) I have looked at about a million different brands and I just don't know which to buy. Monoprice has a great little unit but does not have blackberry support. Please recommend some units which will last a Long time and will not break down. tomcctv 190 Posted December 7, 2011 4 channels30fps at least on highest D1 resolution 15fps is all you need you cant see the differance 15 or 30. the mono. you have listed is not as good as you think it is. 30fps is ALL 4 so 7.5 fps is your max per camera Recording speed: 30fps @ 720x480, 60fps @ 720x240, 120fps @ 360x240 the little aver will do everything you need http://www.averusa.com/surveillance/products/hybrid-dvrs/eh1004h.asp software and demo for you to try. http://www.averdigi.com/Support/DownloadDetail.aspx?id=

You can not remotely administer the system. You will still need to have a monitor hooked up to the DVR for camera settings, network administration and user accounts. 2. The BB software is only for the Storm (This is not a deal breaker the first one is though) I really like this system and even the tech who was very knowledgeable (Mark) agreed with me the software limitation is inconvenient and they are going to change it but no ETA. I can not have a DVR which requires a monitor on it all the time. Initial config is not a problem but after that i need to be able to use the PC software to change settings. Any other suggestions is appreciated.
jetspeedz 0 Posted December 7, 2011 dahua (qvis) ... Started looking at the Qvis Appollo HD Pro 4 and it is basically the same thing as the monoprice unit with only 7fps per channel per the specs or am i missing something? http://www.nellyssurplus.com/servlet/the-1559/Qvis-Apollo-HD-4/Detail

Initial config is not a problem but after that i need to be able to use the PC software to change settings. call mark back and ask him to put someone else on who has been there longer. you dont need the monitor on or connected all the time. and yes you can control the dvr remote. via remote viewer or CM3000 or remote admin software. did you try the BB demo ? jetspeedz 0 Posted December 7, 2011 I have not tried the software but will when i get out of work later today. Mark never mentioned the monitor has to be on it all the time. My fault i should be more clear. The monitor needs to be on it according to him when you want to make : Network changes, user account changes, or camera settings. The remote software will allow you to playback and view the cameras but not do much of the back door administrative stuff. Can you please confirm.

They have units that hold up to 8 internal Drives for 16TB, and some with eSata for 12TB external.

SEANHAWG 1 Posted December 7, 2011 Hi, Qvis does have a full D1 unit as a 4 channel, however we do not carry it because for a couple hundred bucks more you can get the 16 channel unit. However, we can get it for you if you need it. One question though is, do you really need full D1 for a 4 channel DVR? Most of the time 7 FPS will be just fine. Unless you have the specific need for full D1, you can go with the regular Apollo HD and save hundreds of dollars and still get the same video quality, just at a lesser frame rate. As far as comparing to monoprices, I have never used their DVR's so I cant attest to how they are, but just because two DVR's have the same exact specs does not mean they have the same quality. Things you have to look for are features, quality of the GUI, and video recording compression. As far as the Aver's go, we carry them as well but just arent listed on our website. They are great little boogers if you plan on upgrading to IP someday. But if you are just sticking to analog, I would choose the Qvis.

Thanks for the response, I would like quality recording and basing it off some older cameras i had see i want more then 7fps. 15fps I dont mind at each channel. What is the price of the unit that will do the higher fps for a 4 channel and what Blackberry support is offered if any?
jetspeedz 0 Posted December 7, 2011 interesting. So what is the price of a comparable model to the Aver EH1004H ?
SEANHAWG 1 Posted December 7, 2011 The Aver is a hybrid, the Qvis is an analog only. 2 different animals.
jetspeedz 0 Posted December 7, 2011 Understood but I was planning on only using Analog cameras anyway. I'm more interested in the specs and features.

Can you please confirm as you see there are grayed out options in this screen and others but this is the only screen shot i had him take to clear up any confusion on my end. http://cw10b.providesupport.com/file-transfer/download/GuBda75WQuTYVFE8/c1bNvZyA701Q2XTAsn9d6Rk5NiCNWkpp/323031312D31322D30375F31362D30362D35322E6A7067/2011-12-07_16-06-52.jpg
