Yes that would work but you still need a device that will make the 4 cameras sequence. Please see my suggestion that I emailed you about the quad processor. That is the cheapest and easiest way to do it.

yes, you can use t connectors to split a single camera to view on 2 devices and i admit i've done it before... but you're not supposed to. it cuts the video signal in half, and can result in a degraded picture.

 

if the quad Sean recommended has loop outs, that would work. otherwise, use a powered video splitter aka distributor:
