bazinlondon 0 Posted March 13, 2013 hi all I have some bandwidth concerns of my own you might be able to advice on. We will have a similar number of sites and will have either an NVR or NAS at each site recording 12 hours a day. We will need to access that remotely on a few occassions a day only to upload footage from the hard drive. How long would it take to take to download 4 hours worth of footage for example. The recordings will be done at 25FPS on HD
ommarfarooq 0 Posted March 28, 2013 Hi all, could anyone help on this.. why Nas storage cannot be used as a primary storage for survallance, what i could figure out is as below. NAS provides only file level access to a storage volume while DAS and SAN provide block level access. In surveillance, block level access is required by most systems, including Avigilon Control Center (ACC). As a result, file level access and the use of network attached storage is typically limited to applications with very few cameras. Please specify if any other reasons? Hello, You may check QNAP, NUUO who is dedicated to developing NAS for sureveillance, which also bunddled VMS for monitoring.
