3iProtect 0 Posted December 16, 2011 Question: I ran Siamese 250' and powered a .65ma IR camera locally. I am getting 12+V at the camera and I can see the camera when putting it on a installer monitor. It is not showing up at the DVR 250' away. The cable is run in a conduit under the ground. I redid the connections twice. Any thoughts? Thanks!
tomcctv 190 Posted December 16, 2011 and powered a .65ma IR camera locally what are you using ? a cellphone changer ??? you need 500ma or 1 amp for ir camera at that distance
rory 0 Posted December 16, 2011 if you get video at the camera and its powered back at the DVR end then its likely bad cable/connectors between the camera and the DVR end. and that must be 650ma right? Otherwise id love to get my hands on that magic camera
Soundy 1 Posted December 16, 2011 I would bet on faulty or damaged cable as well. Obviously if you get picture on your test monitor AT the camera, power is not an issue. It's possible there's a bad input on the DVR as well. Have you tried a different input, or tried connecting the DVR end of the run to your test monitor?
