blake 0 Posted December 21, 2011 So i plan on installing a dvr in the attic in a lockbox and have the dvr connected to the network in the house thru the router.I know i can view the dvr on the network, but my question is this.Since i wouldn't want to go up into the attic to burn the footage onto a thumbdrive, could i log into the dvr on the laptop, insert a thumbdrive into my laptop and copy the footage that way without ever having to physically go the actual dvr? SEANHAWG 1 Posted December 21, 2011 Yes. See this: http://www.nellyssurplus.com/backupnetwork.pdf Make sure you attic does not get too hot during the summer. Those attics can get really hot and heat kills.

Soundy 1 Posted December 21, 2011 It would require the remote client to support that function. Not all do.
