Vivotek IP8362 -- resolution & frame rate over WiFi

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently installed two Vivotek IP8362 cameras and linked them over a WiFi bridge Nanostation M5. The topology of the network is

[CAMERA] -- [PoE switch] -- [M5] ==300_m_of_air== [M5] -- [switch] -- [a linux box]

I am using a reduced resolution of 720p at 25 FPS, H264 but it seems I am not able to retrieve a full 1080p resolution at this frame rate. The ffmpeg that I use to record the video data starts reporting dropped or duped frames. Has anybody had a similar experience?

Cheers,

Adam

... actually, the WiFi is irrelevant. I got dropped and duped frames even when linked directly through a UTP cable.
