PaulsonLaw 0 Posted January 15, 2012 Sorry all, I'm a noob here with this.... The Zmodo DVR Hardware V DM-83 Software V3.0-20110901 It is a 16ch DVR.... I have everything hooked up for remote viewing, works fine on PC's, via lan & wan but cannot view on macbook via chrome or firefox & cannot view on Wii via Opera... So, I am trying to see if there's a way to access by hosting where it is streaming from the host, therefore avoiding the Activex control required to log in, which only works on PC's..... I have tried the IE tab for chrome & still no luck.....
rory 0 Posted January 15, 2012 Browser based will always be limited. The desktop software is the real software. Some have Mac versions. You might get it to work in WINE also. Most DVRs only have an ActiveX control for browser based. As far as I know there is no IE plugin for Mac computers. I doubt you will find anything like that, its an unknown DVR. If anything they might support brands like Geo, Bosch, etc. If your DVR supports RTSP then that is one way to do it, but you would have to leave VLC running on a computer all the time. PaulsonLaw 0 Posted January 16, 2012 I figure the best route after hours on end of research here.... I figure I'll gut get a tablet to keep running on the nightstand, the dvr wll work w/ any 3g including driod, so for 100 bucks, it'll work i guess.... ScottS9251 0 Posted March 15, 2012 I have a suggestion. I am not a developer, and I am not promoting a friend's app, but in the Apple App Store for Macs I found an App called ASee+ that works with my Zmodo DVR.
Birdman Adam 0 Posted March 15, 2012 Well with my Qvis, I could do an iframe of the DVR page. That should work OK. IE is needed for many DVRs, but you can use IE Tab in Chrome to get in; you do still need IE on the computer however.
