j taylor 0 Posted January 23, 2012 Hi am new to the forum and need some help with what you might think is a really weird setup i am trying to use a CCTV board camera with a 1/3 Sony ccd sensor to look down a rifle scope and see what the scope sees my problem is that the cross hairs are out of focus i am using a 12mm lens at the moment and am wondering if anyone can suggest an alternative to this the distance from the camera to the cross hair is only about ten inch
chesterfield 0 Posted January 23, 2012 Please tell me you are working on a remote control rifle and will be selling the plans. Ill be first in line! Would it not be better to mount the camera at the distance you would normally sight your eye in front of the scope - say 6-8 inches? I would also think that you will need some form of semi macro lens to focus at that distance possibly? Just looking at this from a photography point of view. The cctv lens experts here should be able to offer specifics probably.
j taylor 0 Posted January 24, 2012 Hi and thanks for your response the camera is mounted to the scope with a rubber tube and and what the scope sees is viewed through an LDC screen mounted to the top of the scope
