cctvlad 0 Posted January 24, 2012 Hey lads, just recently purchased a Zeus 8ch customer is complaining of a beeping noise from the DVR investigated - a no disk error came up and DVR doesn't see HDD but however when I reboot DVR it comes back this is the second time i have done this and has come back what ye reckon is wrong. Bad HDD? or a method to get rid of the error? hope all is well !
dolladave 0 Posted January 26, 2012 I've never used the Zeus myself but I've heard good things about it. In your case, I would lean towards the HD is going out. It boots up and runs for a bit and the drive works but after awhile a mechanical error inside the HD occurs and it quits. Then you reboot and it works again until it overheats etc and the quits again. I've encountered issues like this on several occasions. David
Birdman Adam 0 Posted January 26, 2012 I would say the hard drive. My Zeus 8 works perfectly with a 1TB 7200RPM SATA HDD. Obviously, check connections (power and data!) Never had beeps...
SectorSecurity 0 Posted January 27, 2012 I saw this once with a DVR which had a stupid nightly reboot set on it, for what ever reason the DVR would not reboot itself when it did its nightly maintenance reboot, and this would cause beeping. I forget the DVR type, but may be something to check on.
