floridaBill 0 Posted January 26, 2012 Getting ready to install multiple Esprit ES 3012 systems. Pelco did not include a wiring diagram for daisy chaining multiple systems to work with one controller. Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for this?
The Lab 0 Posted January 26, 2012 Pelco has the Installation manual with this information on their website. Look under their products section for the Esprit Integrated camera systems and select your type. Under the download tabs, their is another tab for manuals. It doesn't have looping info in it per se, but most Pelco PTZ cameras can be daisy-chained or starred by looping out to the next, terminal type to terminal type. Not sure if Esprits have/need data termination though... Good luck!
hardwired 0 Posted January 27, 2012 According to the manufacturers, you are always supposed to daisy-chain (going from the TXD +/- terminals on the keyboard or DVR to the RXD+/- terminals on each Esprit, and then on to the next one, turning on the termination on the last one in the chain. The Esprit's do have a termination switch in them. In practice, star configurations, and other odd connection layouts will usually still work. If you have very long runs to each camera, you may want to use a RS422 distribution amp, something like the Pelco CM9760-CDU-T. (Although I'd try your system out without it first, if you need it, you can always add it later).
