Hi to all the contributers on the forum.

I am based in the uk.

I am thinking about buying a ptz dome camera the specs are on my sky drive follow the link below.

https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=348b1014ca4f6157&resid=348B1014CA4F6157!148&parid=348B1014CA4F6157!113&authkey=!AD8ka_pEMz_oaPI

I hope to run Cat5e directly from the dvr to the dome, use one twisted pair with a passive balun for the video, then another twisted pair for the RS485. I would like to use the remaining two twisted pairs for the power. I used the following calculator http://www.netkrom.com/voltage_loss_over_cat5_calculator.php?re2=cal&item=resources and input the details as follows

Input voltage 24

Input Current 0.37a (24a/65w)

Cable length 15m (50ft)

Cable Pairs 2

Wire Guage 24

Results

Voltage Drop 0.1

Required Supply 24.1

Effective Guage 21

Cable Resistance 0.6

Power dissipation 0

Does this look as though it will work ok?

Any improvements or errors ar anything at all really will be listened to, thought about, responded to and acted upon?

Cheers Guys
