rahuldigitech 0 Posted January 28, 2012 respected all, i m facing a problem of installing a switcher (matrix type) for eight dvrs(avtech 16CH same model). The need is> 1. All the dvrs should be connected to the matrix switcher.( The distance is approx 150M of each dvr from switcher). which cable i should use???? 2.)the display and control from switcher to television is about 50M and which cable i should use for switcher control and displat to television.????? 3.) how can i control the individual DVR remotely near from television through IR . the dvr supports the 3.5mm jack for IR. can i extend the cable (150M in length) from DVR to television. All the dvrs are required to be controlled at all of the three televisions. 4.) The DVR has a output named CALL on the backside just above the output connector. What is the use of that??? Soundy 1 Posted January 28, 2012 Have you considered just putting a PC near the TV (even a basic laptop or netbook would do) and networking the PC and DVRs all together, then accessing them via the remote client? It would be far easier, probably far cheaper, and certainly more flexible.
tomcctv 190 Posted January 28, 2012 3.) how can i control the individual DVR remotely near from television through IR . the dvr supports the 3.5mm jack for IR. can i extend the cable (150M in length) from DVR to television. All the dvrs are required to be controlled at all of the three televisions going from DVR to Matrix is done via in/out of BNC so you will have no control over DVR controls anyway. it would be a control via matrix. will all TVs be in the same location ?? rahuldigitech 0 Posted January 28, 2012 @ tomcctv... thanks sir for posting the reply.. initially when all the system was working, all the dvrs were interconnected and the televisions were installed in three nearby offices near switcher. Each tv was having two 3+1 CCTV camera cables. 1> for switcher remote. 2> display cable for Video from switcher and three other cables for IR sensor from DVR. each dvr's IR input was looped and connected to three IR sensors. Each Tv was having three remotes. a> one for Television.(just to ON the TV and putting it to AV mode.) b> one for switcher control panel to switch between the eight dvrs. c> one for the DVR sensor fixed near the TV to switch between the different cameras in displayed DVR. my problem is.. The switcher has got damaged due to rain and water leakage.. the connections are need to be reconnected. please suggest....
tomcctv 190 Posted January 28, 2012 installed in three nearby offices near switcher thats were we got lost switcher is not a matrix. so you are using BNC out from each DVR and you have a switcher at each office ?? (to switch between each dvr) i think what you may also have is a signal amplifier. some look like a matrix. for 150m you would need 1 can you take and post pictures of your equipment. you may also look at soundys surgestion. avtech have a CMS so you would only need to network if you have a pc in each office
SectorSecurity 0 Posted January 30, 2012 One of the big questions here is are you trying to control the DVR from 3 locations or simply view from 3 locations? If you want to control I would say soundys idea is best, if you just want to view then tomcctv has a great solution.
