DS2 no vidoe output !

i need basic diagnois help, a recent aquired DS2 i have, does not seem to even bootup just panel lights sequence, but no monitor display.

I am not sure if a bad drive does causes this, I would assume I sould get some type of display indicating an error if this where the problem.

I suspected the power supply but have some voltage checks of 11 and 4 while operating.

Anythoughts - got it cheap but have a chance to return it if costly to repair.

if you have to chance to return then i would do that. it could be a number of things the main problem with them is the power supply.

 

they have duel output 12-9 and also 5v all of which must be working. if not its a new power supply and thats £60 to £90,

 

and then you have the problem of software (its on the harddrive) if you fix the power and then find HD is empty then thats another cost

So i mean i got it cheap only have 75.L in the unit,

and i am willing to buy a new power supply, seeing i have a DS unit thats not working. I also have some new drives to format and try if needed.

The main idea is its really not worth keeping if we might suspect a bad mother board or circuitry.

you can have gold plated drive fitted if you want. it still will not help. (you need the software )

 

 

also look at your unit. No dvd no usb == you cant load software. so you need the RS232 coms connector and that is not cheap.

 

 

cost for yours well you can buy 2 dauha dvrs (new)
