irishcrows 0 Posted January 31, 2012 Hi We have a client who needs to expand is camera system beyond 32 cameras. All of his systems are using Geovision cards and software. I have been looking at the GV-900A cards, noting that I can combine two in a PC to get 64 cards. However, the question I have is will version 8.5 of the Geovision software support 64 channels? If so, does anyone have any experience with such a system and what would you recommend as a minimum configuration? If not, how would you be able to combine the two cards as Geovisions card specs say you can? Finally, does anyone know if there are any preconfigured Geovision 64 channel video servers? Thanks very much Michael
tomcctv 190 Posted January 31, 2012 one 64 unit is never a good thing you will not get it to work and be reliable there is only a very few 64 ways on the market use two 32 ways. you may be best looking at a hybrid. this will cut down the amount of cameras you will need (if you have a few in the same area) also look at storage costs as of yesterday sata drives have gone up another 8%. and will be going up again.
