DataAve 0 Posted August 29, 2005 Did a couple of fiber runs today and it was spec'd out with this crap called MaxCell. It is material with drags in it, that you run through the PVC. Well, our runs were like 3/4 miles a piece underground to a second story building. This stuff is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread...HORSE HOCKEY. It caught the fiber around 1/2 mile at one pole and at the very end (splice box) at the other. We had to tie the crap to the hitch on the bucket truck (MaxCell has 2500 lb. pull to it) and back it out with one of our drags to it and rerun it. I am just hoping it hasn't damaged any fiber strands. What until they get that bill.
DataAve 0 Posted August 30, 2005 Here is specs and some pics. Forget about it. The only good mouse trap is the original...snaps the neck. http://www.maxcellinnerduct.com/Products/4%20-%203.htm

DataAve 0 Posted August 31, 2005 ...another engineering marble. It was a County Job...that is what they wanted. Try talking to one of these stiffs to tell them that isn't going to work. It is all about getting paid off. Heck, might even be the Project Managers nephew that owns the company.
