wilf 0 Posted February 9, 2012 I have been reading this forum, but need help finding a DVR. Some requirements: 8 ch 7-15 fps D1 resolution Simple access with web browser (no active x requirement) The newer tv's have a web browser, and it would be nice to be able to simply use any tv to view the cameras. The active x requirement makes this difficult or impossible, but otherwise the Dahua products and rebranded ones look suitable. Thank you
gordonh 0 Posted February 9, 2012 I have a Dahua DVR and it has a monitor out and a BNC vido out. Most modern TVs seem to have a VGA socket on the back so that will work, but the other option would be to put a BNC to phono plug on the video out and plug that into the composite in on the TV. I doubt that the browser on the smart TV will be able to handle monitoring the DVR over the network. Alternatively, depending on the smart TV, some are starting to consider putting Android on them (or an external Andriod set top box) and run the Android App to monitor the DVR instead.
