crow 0 Posted February 10, 2012 hi going to get one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/programmable-universal-modulator-33050 to send cctv cameras to all tv's in the house never used one before and also need to know before i buy one, wheather the apollo hd 4 and 8 channel (slim one's) can work with the hdmi output and also the bga output at the same time(conect hd tv to dvr and have bga out to other tv's) do i wire as follows bga out from dvr to a bga to phono adaptor on the other end of cable ' then into the rf modulator labled video then unplug the rf out 2 cable from my tv upstairs (coming from sky box) and plug it into the rf modulator (ant in)( on this maplin one) and then from the rf modulator socket that says (to tv)(maplin one) back into my tv hope this makes sense thanks
tomcctv 190 Posted February 10, 2012 Hi. no that modulator will not work for you (not from sky) 1 is digital the other is analog. ........... this is why you are seeing cheap modulators in the uk. we have gone total digital. you can still use the one listed but only via arial .... but not all new TV will see the signal. your tv has to have the old VHF band
crow 0 Posted February 10, 2012 hi tom do you know what will be a good way to sent dvr out to new tv's if the tv still has the uhf 21 to 69 band will i have to have the analog modulator down stairs then put in the areal in then back out to the tv cheers
tomcctv 190 Posted February 10, 2012 will i have to have the analog modulator down stairs then put in the areal in then back out to the tv no that will only allow you to view on that 1 tv. if you want DVR on all tvs then you would have to do it before your distribution box (amplifier) arial -- modulator -- distribution box----- out to all TVs ..... but this will only work on TVs that can switch to VHF
