Does a hardware reset affect recorded video? AVC777M

Recommended Posts

I have an AVC777M. The admin account has been deleted. If I were to do a hardware reset, would I still be able to access the recorded video? does it reset the time etc? If so, does that affect the recording?

yes it will affect your footage.

the problem with your DVR is the 777M which relates to what part of the world your in. and finding firmware is a problem for your DVR if you use A or AB it may kill your DVR.

i will PM you something to try first ........ but like all avtech sites YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

PM sent ...... lets know how you got on with it.

I have some footage I need to keep.... Will the hardware reset affect this?

yes on the avtech it will affect it. you are best connecting your dvr upto a DVD recorder of a usb recorder to get your footage off first.

then do what was in the PM.

How about if I do a reset through the front panel menu? In the front panel menu , network, there is an option to reset default. Does this reset the network passwords?

that will just be a factory reset. if you have the passwords then why do you want to do a master reset ???

I have the password to get in via the front panel but the admin account has been deleted in the network interface. There appear to be 2 factory resets via the menu.... one in system and one in network. Does resetting either of these replace the network admin account? Do they affect the stored video?

How do I do that? It appears that I can only create network accounts from Video Server E, which I cant log into.

it sounds like you are only logged in with a user password and not the admin. (also the reason why you cant remote log)

The manual and everything I have read say nothing about multiple users through the front panel. The only mention is how to reset THE front panel password. The manual only shows ip settings etc in the network part? Any ideas?
