DeliVeR 0 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) I'm amazed how many people strike this problem. Like me they can access camera views via their mobile phone and internal LAN but try from an external WAN/Internet and it barfs with 'Login Failed' - rrrrrgh! I've setup my own Standalone DVR and cameras then configured my router to forward all required ports. The DVR has four in all as HTTP, COMMAND, MEDIA and MOBILE ports i.e. 80, 5050, 6050 & 7050 defaults. As far as I can tell there seems to be 3 credible causes I can make out so far from forum entries i.e: o Using port 80 as the HTTP port may clash with other live web apps also using port 80 like apache. o The router may not permit Anonymous WAN login attempts in which case it must be disabled. o Someone has failed to forward all ports utilised by the DVR unit. I myself have used 6000 for HTTP port and don't know if my router denies anonymous WAN logins. I am however certain that I've forwarded all four ports as required but I cannot login remotely. I get the login page ok which means the ActiveX loaded ok from the DVR but the credentials fail. The same username/password always works ok on my internal/LAN i.e. 192.168.1.xx IP address. I'm running the DVR with a static IP (no DDNS) and even tried the DMZ with no success. DVR looks like this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/454599281/8CH_H_264_Network_video_recorder.html I've tried login in remotely from an XP box running IE7. To make this easier I've provided links to my Netcomm NB6Plus4Wn and WS-T3008V DVR user guides below: http://users.tpg.com.au/ivylea/Security/WS-T3008V-User_manual_eng.pdf (4.3MB) http://users.tpg.com.au/ivylea/Security/NB6-Series-User-Guide.pdf (12.3MB) (Go to http://users.tpg.com.au/ivylea/Security to view listing for easy download) I'd be sincerely indebted to anyway who can help solve this issue. In fact I'd be glad to make a $20 donation into their PayPal account as a token of my appreciation. Thanks in advance. Edited March 7, 2012 by Guest

DeliVeR 0 Posted March 9, 2012 Issue resolved. Appears to have been asocciated with PC I was trying externally. Was able to access DVR remotely when using a different PC with Windows 7 + IE8. All good.
