A device will attach to our software and we will, via TCP, transmit data that needs to be over-layed on the footage. The client is using Kodicom Diginet 4.160. Soundy 1 Posted March 9, 2012 Take a look at the Honeywell SmartPIT. We've used them for POS overlay via serial input, but they're designed to receive network data as well. Honeywell support was always excellent when I needed them (particularly for customizing a data filter for a Squirrel POS). The text is added directly to an analog video feed that's looped through the box, so it will work with any analog-video recording system out there (we have many older versions of this box that carried over from old MUX/VCR installations to new DVR upgrades).
