baggus 0 Posted March 14, 2012 Hi, When I turn on my Avtech KPD677ZL (8ch h264) it hangs on "System Initial..." forever. I think it needs some sort of "hard reset", but I don't know how. I've found a couple of reset guides online, but those DVR's have an internal board completely different from mine: (high res picture) http://i.imgur.com/vOm5b.jpg I need to know which points to short circuit. Could it be fixed by externally reprogramming the firmware (serial, avr, parallel, jtag)? Or by inserting an USB drive with firmware? Firmware I am currently using: http://www.mediafire.com/?3j0war4pqrb36x3 Please help me, I really need this DVR to work
tomcctv 190 Posted March 14, 2012 hi. if you have done the wrong firmware update then your system still may not work. your dvr will need new software if that is your problem. doing a hard reset on the 677 is a little bit of a fiddle. you need to find the R155 link. pm sent on how. baggus 0 Posted March 14, 2012 Thanks for your quick response. Sadly the board in my dvr (see high res picture link in 1st post) is completely different. I haven't been able to locate R155 yet, and even if I do there is no guarantee that it will work because the board is completely different. Is there a way to reflash the firmware when it doesn't get past the "system initial..." screen?
verytricky 0 Posted October 6, 2012 I have an AVTECH KPD677, and after a power failure I am getting the same message:"System Initial..." I have never upgraded firmware or anything. This is exactly as it came from the box. I have the same board as: http://i.imgur.com/vOm5b.jpg KPD677ZL How can this be reset? Or Fixed so it initialises?
