tmescan 0 Posted March 14, 2012 Sorry for the noob question but does bandwidth only play an issue when trying to remote view a IP based system? If the client has an entry level high speed conection and does not have any intention of viewing cameras remotely how does this affect the # of IP cameras viewing/recording on the local network? is bandwidth still a factor? fa chris 0 Posted March 14, 2012 It's less of a factor for smaller installations but can still potentially play a huge role, especially when putting the cameras on the owners network instead of a dedicated CCTV network. Some cameras can require 30mbps or more depending on what they are streaming. Connect a few of these to a 100mb network and you have issues. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Thanks again The switches, how they are linked, and the network cards. Multiple 24port 10/100 switches need to be linked together with gigabit ports if possible.
