Maplin Vs The Rest

Hi guys,

 

Maplin has, from what i can see a good deal on. A 4 channel DVR for £99 which includes a ****ty camera (420tvl).

 

Reading the spec of the DVR, sounds like a good deal compared to most CCTV companies (systemq, Adata, etc), who usually charge double the price.

 

What do you guys think:

best left well alone. cheap second hand / returned units. there posh name is "B" grade.

 

most of the time they are end of line units. no updates

Every time I look at the Maplin deals there is nearly always something wrong with the setups.

 

I've been looking for a simple setup for my parents and currently looking towards a setup from Aban Technology.

I agree Maplin is cheap end of line stock.

 

I use good quality equipment but not all customers can afford it. Had a brief look at the ABAN stuff, seems very good for the price.

 

Well contact them this week.
