JackOfAllTrades 0 Posted March 22, 2012 I can connect the video connection but where can I find an adapter that will let me connect the power to the CCTV connection? As you see, the CCTV connection has some sort of pin connection which does not work with the "plug & play" of the balun.
jxk716 0 Posted March 22, 2012 You can try something like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/314pM51YkFL._SY180_.jpg Or cut the the male power plug and splice into the green connector.
Soundy 1 Posted March 22, 2012 I'd go with the latter suggestion - just snip the barrel plug off, strip the wires, and put them into the green connector. The connector isn't polarized, so it doesn't matter which wire goes where.
JackOfAllTrades 0 Posted March 22, 2012 I found this adapter: 2.1mm Male CCTV Barrel power connector w/terminal block http://platinum-cctv.com/Male_CCTV_Power_Connector.asp
jxk716 0 Posted March 22, 2012 But your original picture looks like it already has a male end. Soundy is right...cut, strip and terminate.
JackOfAllTrades 0 Posted March 23, 2012 But your original picture looks like it already has a male end. Soundy is right...cut, strip and terminate. The one problem with cutting the line and stripping it voids the warranty on the Baluns. While not a HUGE issue, once they are cut, no returns. The balun has a female end. For the $4 or $5 the balun costs, it is worth worrying about to spend the extra $1.50-$2 for the cable, AND wait 6-8 weeks for them to get shipped?
