norcaldad 0 Posted March 25, 2012 I have an 18 path camera supply -12V DC, 60hrz, 2.5amp. I have two IR bullet cameras next to each other: 400mA max @ IR on / 135mA @ IR off. Using Siamese cable RG59U+ / - 18/2 cable to each camera. Can I run both cameras off of one path? (using one 18/2 wire to power both cameras) Thanks! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Soundy 1 Posted March 25, 2012 Probably, but check the fuse on that channel - both cameras together will draw 800mA (or 0.8A) with the IR on, so if the fuse is smaller than that, it will blow once the IR turns on. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Soundy 1 Posted March 25, 2012 If you're using Siamese cable you already have both video and power cables coming from each camera back to the head end; presumably your power supply and DVR are close to each other. norcaldad 0 Posted March 27, 2012 Soundy - thanks for the prompt replies. You are correct, everything was right there. The issue was being short one power pigtail or so I thought.
