Licensing Access Control & Intrusion Detection California

I've been doing CCTV/IP with my Electrician who has C-10 and we have been wanting to get into installing Access Control/Intrusion. We need to get California Alarm Company Operator BSIS ACO ACQ License to operate. Any free/cost effective methods for education to passing this test. Also to clarify I don't think we would need this for any CCTV/IP, right?
