Ben W 0 Posted September 15, 2005 I came across this DVR today, 8ch, 240 fps, h.264 compression, etc. etc. Anyone familiar with this model? http://www.discount-security-cameras.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=197 http://www.securitycamdepot.com/catalogs_i3158840.html?catId=124119 I can't figure out the manufacturer but there are several sites selling the same model. Is it safe to buy an off-brand like this, or do I need to stick with brand name stuff like Sanyo?
Verite 0 Posted September 15, 2005 There are a lot of offbrand DVRs that are pretty good quality if you take into consideration the price difference. There's always a risk that the DVR could be low quality, so that's why it's important for an integrator or reseller to form a relationship with a trusted distributor who offers a variety of products and can make recommendations. rory 0 Posted September 15, 2005 sooo close http://www.pinetron.com/php/english/product/m5000.htm That 240fps is in low res, so in High Res would probably be more like 60fps on an 8 channel. Its probably chinese ... anyway here are some others with H2 tech.. http://www.mirak.com.cn/Digital_Stand-Alone_01.htm http://astel.en.ec21.com/GC00969342/CA00969345/SeCube_Plus_Pentaplex_Standalone_DVR.html http://www.idis.co.kr/eng/support/tech.php http://www.hikvision.com/en/Exhibit2/exhview.asp?pid=30 darn they all look the same from the back .. Im too tired to go searching tonight, but maybe someone else will know .. cant remember all the other manu names right at this moment .. brain drain ... Ben W 0 Posted September 15, 2005 That 240fps is in low res, so in High Res would probably be more like 60fps on an 8 channel. That is what I was afraid of. Any recommendations for a 8 ch or 9 ch? I want good remote monitoring and at least 2ch of audio recording and real time recording in High Res. I searched and saw lots of talk about the I-view, but I can't find any dealers. How much does the Digi-800XP go for? Any online dealers?
qman 0 Posted September 15, 2005 The DG-800XP is no longer in production. All they have is the DIGI-1600XP.
rory 0 Posted September 15, 2005 Yeah I think the stopped that model. Besides its PC based. Better off buying the Geo 8 channel Combo card with a Remote Control for the DSP output, if you want real time ..
