Millie 0 Posted April 12, 2012 I finally was able to resolve all kinds of problems and can see my cameras. I can log on outside of my network but not when I am at home through my noip site. I understand this is a loopback issue which really does not bother me at this point. I want to be able to have a few people monitor the cameras and have it be as simple as pulling up a site and watching what is happening. I also do not want to have others be able to control my cameras. Unfortunately, I know nothing about how this would work. The google search for live streaming video is nothing but confusing for me. Any help is appreciated.
tomcctv 190 Posted April 12, 2012 Hi millie. viewing your system from home (local network) you do not need to use your noip account. you only need your local ip address of your dvr. it would be something like 192.168.1.xx. I want to be able to have a few people monitor the cameras and have it be as simple as pulling up a site and watching what is happening. I also do not want to have others be able to control my cameras. all you need to do is give the people involved your NOip address and they just need to download the activex they will see on there first time connection ... and most dvrs will load a icon on there desktop. you might want to setup some user accounts first (from your dvr) to limit them to what settings they can control. Millie 0 Posted April 12, 2012 I cannot seem to limit the access through my dvr. It seems as if it is an all or nothing type thing. I think it is pretty simple to log on to the web service site. However, there have been all kinds of issues with IE9, Windows 7, iPads, etc. that make it really challenging. Plus for some reason others trying to log in find it tough to click on those camera icons on the left I finally had to go to Chrome with the IE tab to be able to see it on my Windows 7 computer. Even running it in compatibility mode and all firewalls turned off did not work for me or the others. There is a site called marestare that does what I want. But you have to run something called a dazzle from the dvr to the computer and that is not possible since we are about 250' from the dvr. This whole project was suppose to make my life easier not harder!
tomcctv 190 Posted April 12, 2012 There is a site called marestare that does what I want. i see what your idea is now. that site will charge you and you will still have connection problems getting your dvr onto there server. i dont know how much or the make of your DVR but IE9 connection problems and no firmware means its comming to the end of its remote viewing life. looking for a hosting service is going to cost. were you can just change your dvr and have remote viewing on anything IE9 / mac / ipad-iphone / android / windows mobile. and there is also a brand new range of apps comming in may for these DVRs http://www.dahuasecurity.com/English/product.aspx?type=61&&css=
