pixpuf@bresnan.net 0 Posted April 21, 2012 I have a tevern casino and previously had a 16 camera ATVideo Falcon DVR. At home I have a 23 inch HD monitor. When viewing at home the viewing window for each camera was filled completely. I just purchase a Nuvico 16 channel easy net DVR and now when I view the cameras at home the viewing window is not filled completely. It is a square box and has black bars on each side. My installer said it's because my screen at home is larger and the Falcon stretched the picture where as the Nuvico show exactly as the camera does. I'm not sure what kind of cameras I have or any thing but do all system cut off the picture or which DVR could I get that would act like the Falcon? I am a complete novice at the technical things. groovyman 0 Posted April 22, 2012 Seems like the software for the Nuvico maintains the aspect ratio while the Falcon software did not. The Nuvico is most liklely not cutting off the picture, but displaying it the way it is intended to be seen where the Falcon allows for stretching the image to fill the space, thereby distorting the image. groovyman 0 Posted April 22, 2012 In the VMS manual (actually, VMS Lite manual) it says to click on Tools > Options then the Monitor tab. There should be an option that says Monitor Viewer Mode. The options are: Full: Resize the video accordingly to the display size Ratio: Keep original aspect radio Caption Area: Display caption bar Try changing from Ratio to Full and see if that makes a difference. pixpuf@bresnan.net 0 Posted April 22, 2012 Under the tool option in the tool bar there isn't a monitor tab all there is is a download tab and a text search tab. The Nuvico web site says the Easy Net supports wide screen resolution but doesn' tsay how to change it.
Securame 0 Posted April 23, 2012 I also think that is not a problem. Your CCTV cameras are probably 4:3 asect ratio, and your TV must be 16x) (widescreen). Instead of stretching the image to fill up the screen, now you are seeing the black bars on each side, and the image is being shown at 4:3.
groovyman 0 Posted April 23, 2012 Just need to ask - are you accessing the DVR menu on the DVR itself, or through the remote software? It's been my experience that not all DVRs give access to all menu options via remote software. Some options are available only via the DVR itself.
