mike_va 0 Posted April 22, 2012 Will it play with VLC? One program (free) that works well converting certain files is Handbrake, I've used it to convert ASF. Don't know if either would help in your case though.
groovyman 0 Posted April 23, 2012 Hi , I have a CCTV footage from our surveillance camera . It is in ".264" format .for ur reference this is how the filename is "ch00000000000001-xxxxxxxxxx-02p001000000.264 ". I'm very familiar with that as that's the file name output on some QSee DVRs a couple of clients have. What you need is the avi generator program. You can get it here: http://qsee.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/918/kw/qr414%20playback Click on the Download AVI Generator link. Even if you don't have a QSee branded DVR I believe this program will work. Once installed and running, choose the .264 file as the source, then choose an output folder & filename. If you can't play back the avi file, then you may need to install the K-Lite Codec Pack. Instructions are here: http://www.q-see.com/files/HowToFiles/E-K%20Lite%20Codec%20Pack%20Install.pdf
groovyman 0 Posted April 23, 2012 Additionally, after converting to AVI, get the Any Video Converter software: http://download.cnet.com/Any-Video-Converter/3000-2194_4-10661456.html?tag=mncol;7 This program can convert the AVI file to other formats, such as mpg, wmv, flv, mp4, etc. I use it all the time to convert and send video clips to people with smart phones. sbrookman 0 Posted December 31, 2015 I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION! We have similar DVRs at our company, and I would have had to manually convert over 2000 files of an incident. After days of searching, and trying everything I can, it turns out the AVI MP4 Converter made by Hoo Technologies works perfectly. It even will convert them all to one MP4 file!!! http://www.avi-mp4.com/avi/h264-to-avi.htm Saved me days of wanting to hit my head on the desk, manually converting DVR files! For reference our .264 files were off a Kguard DVR. Cheers, Shaun Brookman
