Baje 0 Posted April 25, 2012 Hi All, I have 2 cameras running a cat5/balun setup. Im using the one cable to supply both the video and power for both cameras which are installed inches apart. The run itself is quite long..approx 150ft or so. The problem i am getting is that one of the cameras gets a little fuzzy/distorted at night only. It seems to be a power problem because i have used a variety of different power options. All are reg plug in power adaptors but all have been different amp ratings. (1a,1.5a and 3a). I say it must be power because when i interchange the power adaptors i get the same results but it will interchange to the other camera and vise versa. I must also say i have an additional 2 cameras installed on this system which are working perfectly. Hope i have made myself clear and i await a response. Soundy 1 Posted April 25, 2012 What make and model are the cameras? How much current do they require? Have you tried powering both cameras with the same adapter? Even the beefiest IR camera shouldn't take more that 800mA or so (until you start getting into the high-end stuff) so there should be no problem with one of the adapters being under-spec'd, unless one is faulty and not providing clean power. Baje 0 Posted April 25, 2012 Cant remember the exact name and model number but they are "regular" 560/650 tvl cameras. Both should only take .5a to power. And yes ive tried powering them off of the same adapter and different adapters.
