PTZ 360 Motion

I am looking for a PTZ that has 360 degree motion detectors. Does something like that exist? I would also be willing to build one, if I could find where to purchase the darn parts!

hi. 360 you are better looking at IP mobotix or arecont or geovision.

 

if you are talking analog its best using external detection either using IR sensors or existing cameras to give a command.

I believe that IP would be best since that monitored end may not be stationary.

 

So there is nothing available for a PTZ that has built-in 360 motion detectors?

 

Here is what I am thinking: A PTZ on a post, in a field, facing North. Something walks near it from East to South. The "motion detectors" pick it up and the camera turns and tracks it until it leaves it's detection zone.

 

Have I been watching too many movies, or would that be possible?

hi. since motion needs detection a PTZ can only see what is in view.

 

for 360 you can have a PTZ with 4 alarm inputs and add 4 motion detectors below your PTZ pointing N-S-E-W

then you have 360 detection.
