tomcctv 190 Posted May 4, 2012 hi a 42 cam system is going to take some building and a high price. i would look at 2 x 32 or 16 & 32 system linked together it will be much more reliable
imcontreras 0 Posted May 4, 2012 hi a 42 cam system is going to take some building and a high price. i would look at 2 x 32 or 16 & 32 system linked together it will be much more reliable Thanks for your reply, you mean 2 PCs 32 channels? Need: The reason why we try to do it on a single pc or dvr it's because we need to send some of the cameras feed to 3 different offices, 3 TVs. They don't want to switch form input to see the feed. Under my limited understanding the only option will be to place 1 single video out put that means at least 48 pc dvr, am I correct? Regards, Antonio
tomcctv 190 Posted May 4, 2012 hi. pc or windows based standalone units can be made to talk with each other 1 -2 - lots of units can all be called together with 1 software also with 42 cameras you need a good display at least two 42inch for that many cameras
thewireguys 3 Posted May 4, 2012 Where are you located at? We could easily do all 42 cameras on one PC with encoders and give you the ability to add HD/Megapixel cameras in the future.

Thanks again. PD: We are located in Chicago IL
thewireguys 3 Posted May 4, 2012 (edited) I would recommend Avigilon Encoders and Avigilon CORE or STANDARD VMS. All you would need is the VMS, encoders and POE switch plus your computer. Edited May 4, 2012 by Guest
jondilly 0 Posted May 6, 2012 You could do that for much less with the DVRs you already have. All you need is some multiplexers and splitters. Would be cheaper than new pcs.
