BIGWRENCH40OZ 0 Posted May 12, 2012 Good evening. I am looking to install a camera system in my newly purchased home. My budget right now is $1500-$1800. I want to purchase a basic ip system that will last a few years until I am better situated financially and can afford a larger, more complex system later. I have decided on these components: 1 Dahua ESDV-NVR 4/8 Channel NVR Hi Def Network Video Recorder for IP camera 1 Netgear 8 Port Network Gigabit Switch With 4 Port POE and 4 Port Regular 4 Dahua ESIP-MP2-DM1 Hi Def 2 MP MegaPixel Outdoor Mini Dome IP Cameras The videos posted on YouTube comparing the CNB VCM-24VF to Dahua ESIP-MP2-DM1 show much better clarity with the Dahua, which is the main reason i want to go with an ip camera. I know that my options are extremely limited with my $1800 budget, but i would like some input, comments, or suggestions from more experienced users before i order this system. Thanks. Soundy 1 Posted May 13, 2012 Sounds like a good start... the only thing to be aware of is that these cameras won't match up to the CNB's low-light capabilities, but as long as you have decent lighting, you should be fine. I haven't use the Dahua-made NVR, but if its interface and setup matches their DVRs, you should have no problem.
BIGWRENCH40OZ 0 Posted May 13, 2012 Thanks for the info. I will post a review of the equipment once it's installed and i have a chance to test it out in different lighting conditions.
