tomcctv 190 Posted May 18, 2012 Hi Allcan i connect my dvr to router (Tp-link) and connect my computer to router (wifi) and view the cameras frome the computer Without any internet hi yes you can (called local network) all you need to know is the ip address of your dvr (found under network settings) most of the time with just local networking you dont need to do any port forwarding
ThoalfeqarAli 0 Posted May 18, 2012 Is there a detailed explanation
Numb-nuts 1 Posted May 19, 2012 You will want to use a static IP for your DVR on your LAN because the settings in your CMS software will need to be set to find the DVR on your LAN and every-time the DVR powers down the IP address of your DVR could change if you set the address manually the software will always know where to look for the DVR. Set the device identifier in your IP address in the range 240 - 254 and you should avoid conflicts with the DHCP
mike_va 0 Posted May 19, 2012 Is there a detailed explanation type network in windows, list the devices. right click on the dvr, properties gives you the ip address. type that into a browser.
