JP Wireless 0 Posted May 19, 2012 I have one 3rd Generation camera which shows on the DVR during the day and at night it turn blank. What could be the reason for not showing at all at night and physically, one can see the IR lighted at night. No image is captured at all at night. Attached is the Camera type. FireGuy 0 Posted May 19, 2012 Check to see if there is a schedule for that channel to record, if it stops at the same time every night, then I would expect that to be the problem, or your house has spirits, they don't like to be recorded. The IR's don't care if the camera is recording or not, if the sensor detects low light they will come on, even when they are not connected to a device. vector18 1 Posted May 20, 2012 A couple of things come to mind. Maybe the transformer does not have enough amps to allow the video image to be produced but just enough to power the IR's. Remember, when the IR's kick on, more amps are required. Another problem just might be with the camera itself. If it's new, it might be defective, if it's old, than it's probably on the way out the door. What you can do is connect a test monitor directly to it during the day and cover the IR sensor with your finger, put a meter to the power and check the voltage once the IR's kick on and watch your test monitor also to see if the picture goes out or not. mobbarley 0 Posted May 25, 2012 Does it have a movable IR cut filter that is getting jammed half way and is blocking the sensor?
