Avigilon - what is it ?, help needed

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I have finished 29 camera system with Avigilon Ent.

There are Sonys and Vivoteks 8332 ( onvif).

There is fail message on screen like this.

Is there any way to fix it and what is the problem?

All vivoteks named " network camera" , because Avigilon don't keep camera name.

After restart it says 'networkcamera" again.

Also, I have a second monitor connected with spot view ( 4 cameras split every 10 seconds) and when customer logs out, he has to set up second monitor spot function again, but when he closes client with cross button ( right top corner) and run client again, software remembers all settings fine.

I checked this - he is right.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Mariusz

Your time changed on the server that's it. Set it up with a NTP server and let it go.

FYI Avigilon does not store the camera name on the server it is stored on the cameras/encoders so it's a issue with Vivotek.

FYI Vivotek is not on the support list and ONVIF is iffy. I HOPE you tested this BEFORE you sold this solution to a customer.

Yes he is correct with the spot monitor just have the customer shut down the client software and open it again and whatever you had displaying on the monitor with show up again.

Are you a dealer? Did you talk to support?

I have a Vivotek 8332 running with Avigilon and Avigilon don't p,ay nicely with it. Although I see a picture it is really messed up. I get a choppy image, and bad artifacting.

Not sure what anyone else's experience has been with Vivotek and Avigilon using ONViF has been.

And it's not on the list either.

I realize that. The post was just to point out that just because a camera states ONVIF compliant it doesn't mean that it will work flawlessly. Vivotek has an ONVIF compliant firmware that you must choose when upgrading the camera. I'm not sure what version of ONVIF it is. I'll take a look on Tuesday.

I would say Vivotek doesn't play nice with Avigilon.

Here is their Onvif firmware>>> http://www.vivotek.com/downloads/downloads.php?kind=firmwareonvif

I have been told Vivotek isn't the easiest manufacture to work with when I comes to integrating cameras with VMS. From what I was told every camera is different unlike Axis where the API basically works with every camera they have. Look at the list for Vivotek every camera has a different version of Onvif firmware
