bigredfish 0 Posted June 10, 2012 So I think I have found that my original idea on a DVR won't be compatible with IP/Megapixel cameras if/when I upgrade? See this thread i the residential forum http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=30920 So it seems I'll need a Hybrid DVR...which ups the cost quite a bit Otherwise, what do you think about the system I've suggested? thanks
HDSecurityStore 0 Posted June 13, 2012 Buy a HD-SDI DVR and camera. Some are hybrids(420-700tvl and 720-1080p) and they have 720P and 1080P. They run on regular coax and is easy to configure. You will not be sorry in 10 years that you purchased it.
Soundy 1 Posted June 13, 2012 They run on regular coax ...maybe. You will not be sorry in 10 years that you purchased it. SDI only does up to 2MP - even in IP cameras now, 2MP is bottom of the barrel.
groovyman 0 Posted June 13, 2012 For a Hybrid DVR take a look at the Aver Nano series. I gave my opinions of the system here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=30147 Since then Aver has improved the Web interface (viewing via Internet Explorer) and added a few new features in their latest firmware release. The release notes can be viewed in the download section of their website, averusa.com or surveillance.aver.com.
